74 Orionis is a white main-sequence star in the constellation Orion. At 63 light years away, it shines at an apparent visual magnitude of 5.04. 74 Orionis is the primary component of a multiple-star system. The star's age is estimated to be 1 billion years but is certainly no greater than 2 billion years. The iron abundance of 74 Orionis is -0.03 (93.3% of the Sun). It is moving through the Galaxy at a speed of 20.8 km/s relative to the Sun. Its projected Galactic orbit carries it between 24,200 and 39,200 light years from the center of the Galaxy.
