43 Eridani is an orange giant star in the constellation Eridanus. At 296 light years away, it is the 500th brightest star in the Earth's sky, where it shines at an apparent visual magnitude of 3.97. The iron abundance of 43 Eridani is -0.14 (72.4% of the Sun). It is moving through the Galaxy at a speed of 45.5 km/s relative to the Sun. Its projected Galactic orbit carries it between 20,400 and 26,200 light years from the center of the Galaxy.
