43 Sagittarii is a yellow bright giant star in the constellation Sagittarius. At 481 light years away, it shines at an apparent visual magnitude of 4.88. The iron abundance of 43 Sagittarii is -0.14 (72.4% of the Sun). It is moving through the Galaxy at a speed of 18.5 km/s relative to the Sun. Its projected Galactic orbit carries it between 21,900 and 30,600 light years from the center of the Galaxy. It came closest to the Sun 6.2 million years ago when it had brightened to magnitude 3.77 from a distance of 288 light years.
