Chi Scorpii is an orange giant star in the constellation Scorpius. At 377 light years away, it shines at an apparent visual magnitude of 5.24. The iron abundance of Chi Scorpii is -0.03 (93.3% of the Sun). It is moving through the Galaxy at a speed of 24.4 km/s relative to the Sun. Its projected Galactic orbit carries it between 23,600 and 27,200 light years from the center of the Galaxy. It will come closest to the Sun 4.5 million years from now when it will brighten to magnitude 2.26 from a distance of 96 light years.
