Gliese 526 is a red dwarf star in the constellation Boötes. At 17.6 light years away, it shines at an apparent visual magnitude of 8.46. The iron abundance of Gliese 526 is -0.08 (83.2% of the Sun). It is moving through the Galaxy at a speed of 60.8 km/s relative to the Sun. Its projected Galactic orbit carries it between 19,400 and 44,900 light years from the center of the Galaxy.
