10 Ursae Majoris is a white main-sequence star in the constellation Lynx. At 52 light years away, it is the 494th brightest star in the Earth's sky, where it shines at an apparent visual magnitude of 3.96. 10 Ursae Majoris is a multiple-star system. The star's age is estimated to be 1.7 billion years but is certainly no less than 1.5 billion years and no greater than 1.9 billion years. The iron abundance of 10 Ursae Majoris is +0.14 (138.0% of the Sun). It is moving through the Galaxy at a speed of 48.2 km/s relative to the Sun. Its projected Galactic orbit carries it between 21,100 and 28,500 light years from the center of the Galaxy. It came closest to the Sun 188,000 years ago when it had brightened to magnitude 3.52 from a distance of 43 light years.
