Delta Monocerotis is a white subgiant star in the constellation Monoceros. At 384 light years away, it shines at an apparent visual magnitude of 4.15. Delta Monocerotis is the primary component of a multiple-star system. It is moving through the Galaxy at a speed of 15.4 km/s relative to the Sun. Its projected Galactic orbit carries it between 24,400 and 29,800 light years from the center of the Galaxy. It came closest to the Sun 7.3 million years ago when it had brightened to magnitude 0.95 from a distance of 88 light years.
