Rijl al Awwa is a white main-sequence star in the constellation Virgo. At 60 light years away, it is the 452nd brightest star in the Earth's sky, where it shines at an apparent visual magnitude of 3.87. The star's age is estimated to be 1.5 billion years but is certainly no less than 1.4 billion years and no greater than 1.6 billion years. The iron abundance of Rijl al Awwa is +0.04 (109.6% of the Sun). It is moving through the Galaxy at a speed of 29.5 km/s relative to the Sun. Its projected Galactic orbit carries it between 20,600 and 28,600 light years from the center of the Galaxy.
