HR 5145 is an orange giant star in the constellation Canes Venatici. At 539 light years away, it shines at an apparent visual magnitude of 6.22. HR 5145 is the primary component of a multiple-star system. It is moving through the Galaxy at a speed of 83.9 km/s relative to the Sun. Its projected Galactic orbit carries it between 16,500 and 26,800 light years from the center of the Galaxy. It will come closest to the Sun 1.4 million years from now when it will brighten to magnitude 5.35 from a distance of 361 light years.
