HD 23356 is an orange dwarf star in the constellation Eridanus. At 45 light years away, it shines at an apparent visual magnitude of 7.10. The iron abundance of HD 23356 is -0.07 (85.1% of the Sun). It is moving through the Galaxy at a speed of 34.2 km/s relative to the Sun. Its projected Galactic orbit carries it between 22,300 and 26,200 light years from the center of the Galaxy. It came closest to the Sun 295,000 years ago when it had brightened to magnitude 6.24 from a distance of 31 light years.
