HD 15672 (HIP 11786)
HD 15672 is a yellow-white star in the constellation Triangulum. At 246 light years away, it shines at an apparent visual magnitude of 7.71. It is moving through the Galaxy at a speed of 36.5 km/s relative to the Sun.
Sky position: RA 2h 32.1m, Dec +34° 40.7'
Common designations: HD 15672, HIP 11786, Gaia DR3 327101071429357568
HD 15672 has the spectral type F5. F-type stars are yellow-white stars of about 6,000 to 7,500 K, slightly hotter and more massive than the Sun. Their hydrogen lines are weaker than in A stars and metal lines become prominent.
How to find HD 15672 in the sky
HD 15672 lies in Triangulum. With a declination of +34° 40.7', it is visible from the entire Northern Hemisphere and from the Southern Hemisphere down to about latitude 55° S. Observers poleward of latitude 55° N see it as circumpolar: it never sets. It is just beyond naked-eye visibility; binoculars will show it easily. It is highest in the sky at local midnight around November, which makes the weeks around that month the best time to observe it.
