Beta Indi is an orange bright giant star in the constellation Indus. At 611 light years away, it is the 348th brightest star in the Earth's sky, where it shines at an apparent visual magnitude of 3.67. Beta Indi is the primary component of a multiple-star system. The iron abundance of Beta Indi is -0.15 (70.8% of the Sun). It is moving through the Galaxy at a speed of 29.4 km/s relative to the Sun. Its projected Galactic orbit carries it between 20,900 and 23,800 light years from the center of the Galaxy.
