Gliese 86 is a yellow main-sequence star in the constellation Eridanus. At 35 light years away, it shines at an apparent visual magnitude of 6.12. The star's age is unknown but is certainly no greater than 8.3 billion years. The iron abundance of Gliese 86 is -0.22 (60.3% of the Sun). It is moving through the Galaxy at a speed of 128.5 km/s relative to the Sun. Gliese 86 has one confirmed planet know to date (early 2012).
